Westboro Baptist Church And Their Hyper-Calvinist False Gospel Of Hate

The hyper-Calvinist Westboro Baptist cult has brought reproach and shame upon the cause of Christ and given reason and great occasion for the enemies of God to blaspheme (2 Sam. 12:14, cf. Rom. 2:24). Contrary to the longsuffering and humbleness that the Holy Ghost filled Saint is supposed to show (Gal. 5:22-23) the Westboro cult has left nothing but a trail of sorrow and broken lives, often in the form of already-grieving families who gather to mourn the loss of their loved ones who are then picked picketed and mocked by WBC members which only adds pain and sorrow.

Westboro are indeed the wicked corrupt fruit of Calvinism and the offspring of the murderer known as John Calvin.

John Calvin Burned Michael Servetus At The Stake | The Founder Of Calvinism Was Murderer!

While this is in NO way a defense of the wicked sin that is widespread in America, nor is this a defense of the unjust warmongering that America has done in the Middle East. America does indeed have the blood of millions on her hands (such as the blood of over 1 million Iraqis and Afghans during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and also the blood of tens of millions of babies who were murdered at abortion clinics from 1973 until abortion was re-criminalized in June 24, 2022).

It’s the wicked American government and the military-industrial complex who is to be held responsible for this bloodshed over in the Middle East, most individual soldiers who are low ranking have no idea of any of this and are often duped by propaganda (often by no fault of their own).

Laura Drain (an ex-member of Westboro) stated that Fred Phelps and his congregation fancy themselves as prophets of doom who are sent by God on a mission of pronouncing judgment on the unrepentant American nation rather than as ambassadors for Christ (even though being an ambassador for Christ is commanded in 2 Corinthians 5:18-21):

“The pastor said it was the church’s duty to tell our countrymen they were doomed, not to save them but to open their eyes” (Drain, L. p. 1340).

This is blatantly contrary to the great commission. Jesus Christ commanded his disciples to preach the gospel to everyone (Mark 16:15). The apostles and disciples went everywhere and preached the gospel and saw souls saved (Acts 4:1-4; Acts 8:5-8; Acts 8:25; Acts 9:20; Acts 13:46-49; Acts 14:1-7; Acts 14:20-21, etc.) The disciples did indeed warn about the consequences of sin (Acts 17:30-31) and even warned the Jews that they killed their Messiah (Acts 2:22-24; Acts 3:12-25; Acts 4:8-12; Acts 5:26-30) but this was done with the end goal of those lost sinners and hell-bound Jews repenting and believing the gospel.

Calvinism Causes God To Damn Some People To Hell Against Their Will (Quotes From Calvinist Theologians)

The completely unscriptural wicked theological mentality of WBC members can be summed up by them gleefully laughing as lost souls and sinners are plunged into hell and the lake of fire. Westboro members devilishly and fiendishly delight and rejoice in the misery, suffering, and torment of lost sinners in hell and the lake of fire:

“…Megan, Bekah, and Jael would tell me we were going to recognise the people who were covered in flames. I, too, bought into the idea that we deserved the pleasure of watching them get their due as they writhed in torment for all eternity, and every second filled with the worst pain imaginable. Just as we in heaven could see them, they could see us relishing God’s glory in heaven, making their torment that much worse. Our comments and judgments could also pass through and be heard by the hell dwellers…” (Drain, L. p. 195).

In 2005, the British satellite company Sky News produced an investigative film about Westboro with the use of hidden cameras, which included footage of two of Fred Phelps’s granddaughters, Libby and Jael. In the testimonial and footage, Libby and Jael explain that they “hope and pray that no one outside of Westboro becomes elect”, because they want everyone else in the world to “die horribly and burn in Hell,” and that even if they did not believe their actions were dictated by God, they would still enjoy it anyway. The Islamic Origins Of Calvinism

These are some examples of the wicked evil unscriptural hyper-Calvinist theology of Westboro.

What saith the scriptures on this matter? The holy scriptures clearly reprove this type of false doctrine.

God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked:

Ezekiel 33:11 (KJV) – “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

Ezekiel 18:32 (KJV) – “For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”

Ezekiel 18:23 (KJV) – Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?”

The Saint is not to be glad and rejoice when his enemy stumbles and falls:

Proverbs 24:17-18 (KJV) – Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: [18] Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.”

Jesus rebuked the apostles James and John when they wished destruction and fire from Heaven upon a village of Samaritan sinners who wouldn’t receive Christ:

Luke 9:52-56 (KJV) – “And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. [53] And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. [54] And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? [55] But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. [56] For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.”

The Pharisees criticized Jesus Christ for sitting and eating with publicans and sinners (Christ’s intent was to call the sinners to repentance):

Luke 5:30-32 (KJV) – “But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? [31] And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. [32] I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

God is slow to anger and wrath:

Psalms 103:8 (KJV) – “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.”

Psalms 145:8 (KJV) – “The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.”

Joel 2:13 (KJV) – “And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Jonah 4:2 (KJV) – “And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.”

The Westboro Baptist Church are the types who have hearts that study destruction (they always love talking about the vicious things of God but rarely present the whole gospel of grace to lost sinners):

Proverbs 24:1-2 (KJV) – “Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. [2] For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.”

There is joy in heaven even when only one sinner repents:

Luke 15:7 (KJV) – “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”

Luke 15:10 (KJV) – “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

God wants all men to be saved, and the Lord Jesus Christ died for everyone:

1 Timothy 2:4-6 (KJV) – “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. [5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; [6] Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

1 Timothy 4:10 (KJV) – “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.”

Hebrews 2:9 (KJV) – “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”

It’s the goodness of God that leads the lost sinner to repentance:

Romans 2:4 (KJV) – “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”

God is not willing that any perish but that all come to repentance:

2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) – “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Acts 17:30-31 (KJV) – “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: [31] Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”

John 3:16-18 (KJV) – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the whole world and died for the sins of the world (NOT just the elect):

1 John 4:14 (KJV) – “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.”

John 1:7-9 (KJV) – “The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. [8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. [9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”

1 John 2:1-2 (KJV) – “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
